A Family For Makayla

Our dossier is in the mail! Praise God!!!

I meant to take a picture of all the documents to share with everyone before we shipped them off but I was too excited and forgot. : D

Now we wait. First for a verbal referral, then a written referral. Once we get our written referral, I'll be off to meet our precious little girl! It will be bittersweet though because I don't get to bring her home...yet.

Praise God!!!

Our dossier will be off on Tuesday! YES!

First, we are waiting for our social worker to get back on her feet. We need her to fill out two forms before we can go get everything apostilled. An emergency happened so if everyone could say a prayer for her it would be appreciated. She's a special and wonderful woman who has adopted children of her own. Her children need their momma! As soon as she is able, she is going to get those forms to us. So until then, we are on hold but we know God has everything under control. Please pray for her.

NEXT!
Ok, so now that we have been approved by the United States to adopt, we have to send our dossier (along with a big chunk of change) to the country of Bu***ria to be approved by them. But we have one more step that we need to get done before we send our dossier. It should, should, be relatively easy to complete. What we need to do is have all our documents apostilled at the state level.

Todd is going to take a vacation day and drive down to Columbus, Ohio next week to get this done. It's only a two hour drive so that's not bad. We'll let you know how it goes!

Katie...how are you doing? I haven't had a chance to read your blog lately. You're always in my thoughts and prayers.

We received our approval letter today in the mail! The United States of America has approved us to adopt Makayla!!!

We are finishing up our dossier and plan to have it sent within the next week or two. YIPPEE!

We are feeling very excited as we move closer and closer to meeting her and bringing her home!

God is amazing! We shared our 16th wedding anniversary on May 1st. We chose not to buy anything or do anything for our anniversary because we are saving every dime to bring our little girl home. Our approval date is May 1, 2012. We received the greatest present from God on our anniversary.

I've shared these little girls before and I can't help but to share them again. I actually shared four little girls in the past and two of them have families coming for them! Praise God! But these two girls don't so I want to share them with everyone again. Maybe someone who reads this will open their hearts and homes to one or both of them. They are blessings from God. We would love to adopt them but unfortunately our finances don't allow us to. In other words, even if we tried to, the US government would deny us. We don't make enough money to support anymore children. That's just the way God has planned things out for us. We thank God that we are able to adopt Makayla!
